Thank you so much for using NoteFor, and for sharing your heartfelt journal entries and warm flowers (empathy) with our community. This is the NoteFor team.
Today, we are thrilled to announce the release of NoteFor version 2.1.0.
Taking a pause in daily life to gently converse with your own thoughts and emotions—we want that precious journaling time to feel even more effortless, peaceful, and enriching.
In this update, shaped by your thoughtful feedback, we are introducing four major new features.
1. The 1-Year Plan (No Auto-Renewal)
— Like buying a new physical journal each year. Simple and stress-free —
In an era where auto-renewing subscriptions are everywhere, have you ever felt:
- “I don’t like the anxiety of ongoing automatic recurring charges.”
- “I prefer to purchase things with my own explicit decision only when I need them.”
- “I want to refresh my commitment to journaling on an annual basis.”
To honor those feelings, NoteFor now offers a standalone “1-Year Plan (No auto-renew)”.
Think of visiting a cozy stationery shop at the end of the year, carefully choosing a beautifully bound notebook, and bringing it to the register—a mindful, reassuring experience that gives you full control.
- No automatic renewals: When your year ends, your subscription simply expires without unexpected credit card charges. If you love the experience and want to continue, you can purchase the next year whenever you are ready.
- Full Premium access unlocked: Enjoy all NoteFor Premium privileges for a full 365 days—including 10-year memory flashbacks, PDF/EPUB book exports, unlimited full-text search history, and exclusive seasonal themes.
- (Note: Our standard monthly subscription also remains available for those who prefer flexible month-to-month access.)
2. Daily Prompts (Writing Hints)
— Gentle questions to open your heart when wondering, “What should I write today?” —
You open the app wanting to write, but find yourself staring at an empty white screen thinking:
“Nothing special really happened today…”
“Where should I even begin?”
Journaling is not just about recording monumental events. It is about capturing subtle feelings, quiet gratitude, and fleeting moments of peace that might otherwise slip away.
To help guide your thoughts, we have introduced “Daily Prompts” right inside the writing editor.
- Thoughtful, warm daily questions:
“Why did you feel grateful for your family or friends today?”
“Was there a recent moment that gently warmed your heart?”
“What quiet scene caught your eye today?”
Each day brings a carefully crafted question designed to foster mindfulness and self-compassion. - Start writing with a single tap: Tap “Write with this” to automatically insert the prompt into your journal body and begin flowing effortlessly.
- Shuffle & Shared Journal Prompts: Tap “Shuffle” to view other inspirations. We have also added special prompts tailored for exchange journals with family or close friends.
- (Note: Whenever you wish to write freely in complete silence, you can dismiss the prompt or disable it completely via Settings.)
3. Library Bookshelf “Popular Sorting” & Period Filters
— Discover words that touch your soul (All Time / 1 Week) —
One of NoteFor’s most cherished sanctuaries is the “Public Library” (Bookshelf), where unpretentious, honest thoughts rest peacefully without likes, comments, or follower pressure.
While entries were previously browsed mainly in chronological order, we heard your desire to discover deeply resonant entries and recent highlights. We have now added rich sorting and time filtering tools.
- Sort by Popularity (🌼 Flowers): Browse diaries ranked by the number of empathy flowers gifted by fellow quiet readers.
- Two Flexible Period Filters:
- “All Time”: Revisit timeless reflections and deeply moving passages cherished over months and years.
- “1 Week”: Discover fresh, relatable stories that resonated most strongly within the past seven days.
Someone’s quiet reflection or honest vulnerability might just kindle a gentle light in your day.
4. “Save as Draft” for Public & Shared Journals
— Polish your thoughts with peace of mind before sharing them with the world —
Have you ever wanted to write a journal intended for the Public Library or a shared exchange group, but felt rushed because you wanted more time to refine your words?
With Version 2.1.0, you can now safely Save as Draft for any public or group entry.
- Private and secure drafting: When you select “Save Draft”, your journal remains completely private to you—never visible to other readers or group members until you decide.
- Worry-free auto-saving: Even with auto-save enabled, drafts stay strictly private. You can close the app anytime without the risk of accidentally broadcasting an unfinished thought.
- Visual “Draft” badge: A dedicated “Draft” badge appears on your journal list, making it effortless to identify in-progress entries at a glance.
- Publish & revert anytime: When your thoughts feel complete, tap “Publish” to share with confidence. If you ever change your mind, you can unpublish and return the entry to a draft at any moment.
Closing Thoughts
NoteFor strives to remain a calm refuge away from algorithmic feeds, vanity metrics, and digital fatigue—a serene haven where you can speak honestly with yourself.
We hope Version 2.1.0 brings deeper comfort and joy to your mindful journaling practice.
